Buzz Aldrin (1930­) served as a fighter pilot in Korea before becoming involved with the U.S. Space Program. He was pilot for the Gemini XII orbital rendezvous space flight in 1966. He was also a modular pilot on the Apollo XI moon mission and established a record seven hours and 52 minutes outside a spacecraft. He has written two books: Return to Earth (1973) and Men From Earth (1989).
